Cherokee County Educational Foundation is pleased to announce that three teachers in the Cherokee County School District have been awarded Classroom Impact Grants for the first 2024 application period, which came to a close on August 31st, 2024.
The first application period opened for Classroom Impact Grants on July 1st for funding up to $2,500 per classroom. A committee of five judges graded the applications (all teacher and school names are redacted and judges read applications based on strength of the grant written) individually and the scores are compiled and ranked. Judges this year included Whitney Spears of Kennesaw State University, Jenny Spain, retired CCSD School Teacher, Dr. Gary L. Sullenger, Ed.D. of Life University, Kathy Strom, Cherokee County Educational Foundation Secretary and Geoff Morton, Cherokee County Manager. The number of Grants awarded each year depends on fundraising efforts at the Annual Celebration of Education Gala.
This application period, more than $5,800 in Classroom Impact Grants will be awarded to the following teachers:
Impact Grant applications are currently OPEN. CCEF will be accepting Impact Grant applications between Oct 1, 2024 and Nov 31, 2024. Funds are expected to be delivered to those approved before the end of December 2024. There will be multiple opportunities to apply for grants throughout the 2024-2025 school year.
